![]() ![]() They need only to look at Drum Sequencer for inspiration. Geist2 is a step-sequencer and sample-based software drum machine offering streamlined sample manipulation, arrangement, and modulation. I think Impact could eventually be the tool for me, IF Presonus continues to support it with updates. Audio software developer FXpansion have announced the availability of Geist2, an all new incarnation of its award-winning Geist sound sculpting and beat production system. Midi is simply too convoluted to use, and I was spending too much time making templates for my DAW(s), and not actually programming it, to use it that way. There are a number of workarounds depending on the DAW you're using it with, but overall, I find myself pillaging the samples to load elsewhere, or rendering my patterns to audio to use in S1. Again, there's a lot to like (the sample library alone is worth the price of admission), but unless you're using it with Ableton Live, it can be a pain to integrate with most DAW's. Impact is just missing the mark when you compare the two. The new Impact is a great step in the right direction, and I would be turning cartwheels for it if Propellerheads hadn't released Drum Sequencer for Reason 10 a few weeks before S1v4 dropped. Long time Battery user here, and I love it. ![]()
